Alex,
Those screws are available from McMaster-Carr. You can get the bridge screws there too but you need to do some work on them for the bridge. I use a drill press and file to remove threads for the jack/yoke screws and they need to be shortened a little also. The frame screws are good to go out of the box and they carry a variety of lengths.

Alex,
The screws to mount the plates to the frame are 5-40 x 1/2" long.
The bridge screws are 6-40 x 3/4", and as mentioned they may need to be trimmed.
If you need hardware, drop me a line and I'll send some out to you.

Andy fished with me today on the Pastime Princess and got his first taste of reef fishing. A lot of you guys are going to learn a hard lesson about handles with the cute slots cut in them. Andy had a nice fish one and during the fight the cute handle folded over against the star. When you cut those cute slices you kill the integrity of the handle. Fish was lost by the way.

That is too bad. How did the reel feel afterwards, did it spin free with another handle? There is always a chance it might be related to something else :-\.
Did you guys get to see what type of fish it was?

These handles are just too weak with meat cut out of them. Never got the fish close enough to see. It is a really cool and very smooth reel. Just one weak part on it. I had one of the boss's handles with a slot in fail me a long time ago and I cautioned folks about them a long time ago. What you don't realize is that when fighting a heavy fish and tight drag you are trying so hard to turn the handle that you also push against it while gripping the big T knob hard. The arm just does not have enough meat to take that pushing effect. Keta built me some solid ones that perform flawlessly. If you fish very light drags with surface fish you may be okay but playing on the reef is a different ball game. Don't take a knife to a gun fight.

Alto Mare

No need to get loud Dwight, just asking a few questions on the reel. A failed handle would teach us just the same.
Now Adam is going to have to take it from there, maybe heat treated or no slots :-\

I don't have my hearing aids in. Talk loud without them. ;D

I do not take measuring devices fishing. Andy is on his way back home.

First, thanks for the education on reef fishing!  Second, we had a blast!  Third, let's not underestimate my Herculean strength when jacked up on coffee and the adrenaline of that sudden hook set!  The handle bent near the sleeve and twisted at the knob hole.  But I have to say, I may have been using it beyond the normal specs!  Drags were locked down and the fish strong on the first few seconds of the fight.  But that is the only way you can keep them headed the right direction from what I witnessed. So, I'll find a solid handle for this one!  Thanks again to Dwight for the coaching and introductions to the crew!  We will be back!

Interesting, how long over stock is that handle?
