Had some time this past weekend and gave the local trout population a try.

The campground I'm at also has a problem in their front pond with snappers. They just put in 20 ducklings and wanted the turtles out of there. So I gave them a hand with that. This is one of two that I caught.

The ducklings should appreciate this...lol

Hope springs eternal
for the consumate fishermen.

Very nice Bob!
Those snapping turtles are nasty. On one trip I didn't realize it but they were eating trout off our stringer faster then we could put them on!

Nice trout Bob.  That turtle is huge.  What do you do with the turtle?  Turtle soup?
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

The turtles were relocated 5 mi. Down the down the road on state land in a pond. The turtles were unharmed. The trout were caught in a creek called the plattekill up near saugerties NY. These appeared to be stocked fish, but still nice sized for a little flow. 16" and 14". Lost one right at shore that was definetly a "hold over" fish of at least 20". Hook came out as I was trying to drag him up on the shore. Didn't have a net, waders or anything with me...lol. The one that got away. Nice change from my usual saltwater fishing. Got to spend 2+ hours in complete solitude. Not another fishermen seen. It was drizzling so maybe that's why. I know the exact hole where the "one that got away" lives.....story to be continued👍🏻😆

I wouldn't hold that snapper at that height if I were you ;D

Nice fish buddy, try those steamed and fixed with olive oil and lemon juice
Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Very well spoken Sal!  ;D  ;D
