These knobs, spools, and drags are different... But why?

Just a different manufacturing timeline -- as sub-contractors supplied new variations as requested by D.A.M..

The Super 270 started production around 1954 -- ended in the early 60's -- think maybe 1962 was the last run.

Penn is about the only company to keep parts constant -- and even with Penn, there are small variations over the years.

Most of the parts are interchangeable between years.
