Hi guys
I am wondering if the bridge and eccentric jack and cam are all the same metals on my 99 Silver Beach.
The bridge looks a bit more "white" in colour than the other parts.
Did they make any parts with german silver on the 99?  Any thoughts?

I think they are chrome plated brass.
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

Basto, as Bryan mentioned most parts are chromed plated brass, but not the jack on that reel.
Here is a pic of the jack sitting on a magnet:

Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Thanks Sal. I must test the other parts on a magnet. Very interesting!

I suspect they are chrome plated. I know the bridges are not steal except for the post. I have a Model 97 and Model 98 Silver Beaches and the bridges are not only plated, they are polished like the trim rings. The sure way to test it is to grind a small spot and see if the brass color reveals itself under the plating. As you get into the older reels of the 1930's German Silver is not a stretch. The Silver Beach 99 is a post war reel and I do not feel that German Silver was used after the war on any Penn reels unless an old piece was left over.
