Spool and side plate tolerance issue

I took the reel down to the lake today to see if I still had an issue and it performed much better this time around.

I got way fewer backlashes today once I figured out that I needed to get a little momentum on the jig before flinging it out underhanded...

Hopefully the issue is resolved and I won't have as many issues when I actually get to fish the reel!
