dears, what a nice site! I am from italy and I love trolling, I have a light Al boat 4.40 m and this is enough for a light duty trolley with a 8hp 4stroke engine, now  I will post some pics. I have bought a used 15 TLD made in Japan (from ebay in California) and when I went trough the spring upgrade I found a lot of interesting things. Now I will replay to the right 3d hoping to solve this mess with finding it belongs to the early model '92. Thanks for all the support I will get from you!
Federico ;)

Benvenuto Federico!!!
Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

I'm another new member but have viewed this site for a couple of years now. As a retired U.S. Army Maintenance Officer, I really appreciate the depth of knowledge that I can access here. I've fished for most of my 73 years and have always taken care of my own equipment as a matter of personal pride. Hope I can contribute in some small way in some of the forum threads. Guess I'll start by posing a question in the lubricants thread about Boeshield T-9, but I'll do that later. Anyway, thanks all for allowing me to join you.

Welcome retrofit from a fellow veteran, you will get a lot of honest help here as it seams you are already aware of.

Just joined. I followed Alan on Hulltruth years ago.  I fish Alaskan salt for the most part in a 24' Tolman for last 6 years.  I am looking to downsize.  Started off with broom stick halibut rods and big Penn's. Starting to look at some Shimano TLD or charter specials for rockfish, lings, and halibutt.  While we occassionally break triple digits that is the exception and we release them.  Target 30 to 50 lbers.  I look forward to learning new ways to improve and extend the life of my reels.  Thanks in advance.  Ken

phil, it was great to see you on wednesday.  i cut up some of the fish for my students that day.  they loved it!  had dinner with my neice and her fiance and gave them a piece. taking the rest to fresno for my mom and dad's 60th wedding anniversary this weekend.  dad said no fancy parties because he didn't want to go out, unless it was to that indian casino.  looks like bbq at home!

Alan If you are talking about the stripe bass you just caught, try smoking some of it with hickory or apple. It is out of this world delicious. You can go on site to the Sausage Maker and get brine and a recipe to do it. I use a small electric smoker that works very well.
