The only comment I have on this reel (not having one in hand) and looking at the pictures is that it does use just one Abu-style dog for the AR.

This is *possibly* an area of potential failure as these dogs relying on friction are sensitive to gunk and corrosion.

I would feel more comfortable with two or I would make a simple spring out of some wire to make it bark (click) if I was going to fish one.

I was thinking of the same idea - Not sure if the dog will let me down, I will try and think of a modification - if I succeed I will post it with photo's
