Trinidad 16NA pressure plate

Hi Everyone,
Recently picked up a Trinidad 16NA and upon inspection noticed that the pressure plate (TGT1662) had a surprisingly smaller diameter than the underlying carbon fiber drag washer.  Has anyone else noticed this?  Based on other reels I own, I would have expected it to be of similar diameter to the drag washer.  Doesn't seem that efficient for pressure distribution.

So is it a smaller diameter than the drag washer in the whole Trinidad line?
When I say "other reels I own," I'm not referring to other trinidads I own, this is my first and only trini, so I wasn't sure.
Just doesn't seem efficient.
