. . . "CHIPPED" Penn 114HLW Spool ???

I just saw something "strange" on eBay . . . A "chipped" 114HLW spool .

Take a look at the pics and tell me what you think caused this . . . It doesn't look like a "chip" to me !

BTW - I have no intention of bidding on it, but I'm very currious about what may have happened to it . . . Thanks for your input !

It looks like a defect (air pocket) during the casting of the original billet and not from abuse.....JMO Bill
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

Agree with Bill. If the price was right, I'd buy it and mabey fill the defect with epoxy.
