Big thanks and a Penn 209 question

Fantastic site!! 

Thanks for the posts / site / directions.  I just have started working on reels myself.  I couldn't have done it with out your site.  (Well, I could get them broken down into a pile of parts! :)  Rotating the bridge and using it to hold the works while slipping on the dog and spring are key!

On my most recent 209 the clicker is really worn and I wanted to replace it.  The schematic shows and e-clip but on mine the clicker tongue seem to be staked in place.  No circlip of any type.  Have you seen this before???  It looks as if I could dremel it off and replace with a circlip style part- seems extreme.....

check in with the guys at mysticparts.com.  what you may have to do is drill out the rivet holding the original click tongue, then install a new one.  hopefully there actually IS a new on that will fit.  alan
