I was just drinking my coffee and going back thru all the Daiwa section posts and came up with a question.  It doesn't apply to any of my Daiwa's but was wondering how it could happen....

How does a frame get cracked?  I can't imagine it could be caused by a fish torqueing it?  These SeaLine frames are solid.  Thoughts?

Tossing it out on the launch ramp?  ;D

I woke today and suddenly nothing happened.

Dropping or banding would be the major cause of a cracked frame.
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

Ive heard of graphite frame reels being prone to failing when clipped into a harness, and the fish pulls hard one way or the other.  The uneven pull on the harness lugs twists the frame and the reels often fail around the seat.  I could see the same applying to cast aluminum reels, possibly to a lesser extent.
