That's what they say about BC to get the tourists here. The wife and I went out for a nice day on the long weekend for a fun day but I had to sneak in a little fishing as halibut was closing in two days. The forecast was great, no wind, fog turning to sun. My wife loves taking pictures and going to the beach. We did some cruising, hit the beach, did a few drifts and picked up a nice ling, snapper and a max keeper halibut and then back to the beach for lunch. Saw a total of three boats in the distance for the day. Here are some pics of the day and some of the critters on the water and when we got home there was more critters in the back yard, and out yorkie cross let out a mighty bark and sent the little ones up a tree (our clothes  line tree). The Butt was 75 lbs.

Yum!  Here I'm having lunch and open the forum to this thread.

My lunch today is battered, coconut encrusted Southeast Alaska Rockfish with a Dijon Horseradish Mayonnaise  blended w/ketchup dipping sauce.... grilled Sesame Ginger King Salmon steak...with teriyaki lime cedar smoked salmon on the side. Sorry no pics...it's all crumbs now. ;D

Goes pretty tasty with beautiful BC coastal pics.

Thanks for making my meal even better.

Cute little blackie cubs.

PS- I'll be just north of there in less than two weeks! POW island!

Wow, thanks for the guided tour. I've only been to Port Hardy once and I can't wait to return some day soon.

A thousand pictures still couldn't show it all, but I'll settle for a few pics of BC anytime......it's the next best thing to being there !!

Steve-O!!!

Photos are mandatory when you use words like, "coconut encrusted..., grilled sesame ginger salmon with teriyaki lime cedar smoked...  now only crumbs"!!!!

You can run shoulder to shoulder with our very own ChileRelleno!!!  Photos, please.

Good luck on your upcoming fishing trip.

Never let the skinny guys make the sandwiches!!  NEVER!!!!

Steve-O

Okay, Wayne, pics next time.

Todd's pics put me right on Prince of Wales island during my lunch break.

The Alaskan Seafood extravaganza was all leftovers from the night before family dinner.

I think Todd gets more sunshine than POW does.

But the rest of the pictures all look like my home away from home.

The lodge has a sea otter under the dock regularly cleaning up the fillet station scraps. Trees like crazy and more bears than people. And of course halibut like that are the norm.

Dominick

Hardyboy that all sounds like a perfect day.  Beautiful country.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

Maxed out:We will have to put a trip together sometime. I  would like to chase tuna in the states on the west coast some time as our albacore fishing is spotty. If any members are coming up  this way for work or pleasure or taking the ferry North lets see if we can put a day or two together on the water.  It never hurts to share a day or a trip. If I knew Gstours two years ago I would have contacted him when we went right by his house on our Alaska cruise or met up in Juneau !!

Cheers

Sounds good Todd. You come down here to join me for live bait albacore, and I'll come fish salmon/halibut up at your place. Is there still that pub in town with a giant table made from one slice of a huge tree ?? Wish ida taken a pic of that table. Now I have even more reasons to head to north Vancouver island.   :D  :D

The pub and the table are still here and if you twist my arm I will even go to the pub  ;D and you don't even have to twist it too hard ! The live boat would be great especially if we could get the whole boat with one party. We get tuna here but only on the troll and this year the water is not setting up right so I don't think we will get a crack at them. We start getting some good fishing starting in the third week of June and its not busy yet (planting a seed).

Cheers:
