Thanks for all the ideas folks. Cerakote is a great finish - have seen it used on rifles. To be honest I’ll probably use it as is now, look after it better than the last guy (!), and keep an eye out for replacement parts. Actually I just bought a 30sw too... with similar damage but on the cage this time! But hey they were at the right price
