Hi there, Alan Tani or George Young, one of you had a post, that you had a Kencon reel that was surplice to your needs, if you service that reel, did the pinion slide up & down the spool shaft, or was it fixed to the spool, I opened a Kencor 940, about 3 weeks ago & the pinion was fixed to the spool shaft, there appeared to be 3 indents on the shaft, to keep the pinion on the shaft, I spun the pool in the drill & run the shaft down with wet n dry, then soaked it in acetone & ATF for 3 weeks, still wont move, & I don't want to pressure it to much if it is supposed to be fix there, cant see how it would work as a fixed pinion. if any one can chime in that would be good, cheers Don.

The pinion gear is probably seized to the spool shaft. Use two screw drivers at opposite sides to carefully lift it up.

Thanks Alan, for your fast reply, I was not confident in using screw drivers, I made up a puller, it slid off easy, was frightened of damaging the spool with screw drivers, so I can get back to the TLC, nice solid reel, I will keep this one, not many around, cheers Don.
