Howdy, ;D
Just got signed up,,
I've been working on and modifying a few reels for several years, mainly Abu and Penn.. mostly older models! Some not so old..
As a member of another board, I was interested in a post or two regarding reel performance that I happened to see by Mr. Alan Tani..
Finally found my way over here, and seem to have found "Reel Wrenching Anonymous" ,, much to my pleasure..

Welcome Greg, take some pictures for us to see when you modify those reels.
Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Welcome to the place! I like working on old penns also.
They are like the mack truck of reels. althought penn parts are much less costly.
I just got 3 penn #9s to redue, nice little reels.
