Would a anti retour bearing dry in a spinning reel
Or Do you put a little oil in the bearing

Some Guys say dry. . I dont know

Keta

A drop or two of oil is what I do.
Hi, my name is Lee and I have a fishing gear problem.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

If it's a Shimano spinner dry is usually the preference. Other spinners I add a drop of CorrosionX. Then test the anti reverse. If it slips degrese and run it dry. Some arbs are more fussy than others. I don't grease arbs - that is almost guaranteed to make them slip..

I've tried grease or oil and a combo of the two.

The only conclusion I came to is that less is probably more, or then better!

I just put a drop of oil on a cotton swab and run it around the inside of the ARB. Too much lube almost guarantees slippage.

no grease.  i just use corrosion x or tsi 321.  they will fail eventually, because that is the nature of AR bearings, but dry will guarantee failure when they rust!   :-\
