Saltiga 50HK (blue spool) - drag problem or not?

spool the reel up to the top with any line and then set the drag where you want it.  then pull with a scale.  you should be able toget 20 pounds easily.  just a quick tug is all you need.  my first guess is that the stack of washers, gears and bearings is not "tall" enough and you can not crank down the star hard enough.  the first thing we need are hard numbers, actual measurements of drag pressure, so that we are not guessing.

Thanks Alan - as soon as I recieved the parts from Daiwa will try that and let u guys know.

Just another thing I still don't know if u need to put the reel on a rod or pull directly from the reel and how long must the line be from the spool when u start pulling.

check it like there's a fish on the other end. you can check it with out the rod i just prefer to  set it how i use it, with a rod
