Just got the place cleaned up a bit. I'm usually open much earlier on a Saturday but because of the weather Its 1 o'clock today.

I've taken the q from Fred for organization but still working on it,  .... the problem is more equipment than there's room for. A lot of stuff gets used daily so its inconvenient to store away.

Anyways, here's where everything gets made and its become my first home!

Me too, not that I would know what to do with them.

I am very thin on decent tools but you have a marvelous workshop.   Looks like it could also be a gunsmith shop!

    At times the work wears on the brain a bit, but I really do enjoy building! Usually I cant wait to see the finished product. Music going, machines going, ....  what better than that? FISHING

Steve, the 2nd pic is a Bridgeport style milling machine by Charter Oak Automation. They're located right in my town. It took them 4hrs to get it in the back, down my hatchway and set up. I was so, so, glad I didn't attempt it myself.
Hey, did you get your knob installed and how do you like it?

The lathe was lowered in with a skid and a tractor. Then we set it up with an engine hoist. Machines get a good workout and the best of maintenance. Yesterday I spent over an hour oiling and greasing every piece of equipment in the shop.  Pretty much everything gets used on a daily basis.

Cor, we did the gunsmithing bit too. Attended Colorado School of Gusmithing in the early 70's, owned and operated the Bullet Hole for over 15 years specializing in custom work. Restorations, rebarrelling, chambering, custom stock work, checkering, factory warrantee service, just about anything you could think of.
The shop was one of the few around that had a full setup for salt bath blueing.

The work was meticulous and time consuming and unfortunately not that great profit wise. I eventually sold out to my brother and he closed shop a year later. The gun business has certainly changed and there's plenty of money to be made today. For me its not worth the hassle and liability.
Still and avid shooter and for hunting, all I have to do is walk out into my backyard. I've seen everything native to Ct. but black bear.

Great shop Lou.  A milling machine is on my list.
That green, black and gold beauty is waiting for it's home. All the parts are in the same box so it's getting close. Will keep you posted!
