Hi all

My name is Thomas, 30 years old and have been fishing for as long as I can remember. Mostly freshwater (wels catfish, carp, pike, barbel), but I've always been intrigued by big game fishing from the beach. With internet making it so easy to see what others are catching around the globe, I started to have a go at land bases shark and stingray fishing the past 5 years. It always involves long journeys (Canary Islands, Florida), so it's not something I do every day.

I mostly enjoy spinning gear, but have some Penn Senators (114H2, 115L and a 116). I would like to upgrade the first two and I hope to gather a lot of useful info on here.

First picture was my Florida trip last year (fished 9 days, caught a very large common stingray and a 9ft tiger on spinning gear - fishing was harsh, very harsh). Second picture is a 7ft + wels catfish. I'm the guy on the far left.

Thanks

Thomas

Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Welcome!  That's the biggest cat I've ever seen.

They grow even bigger, over 8ft and well over 200lbs, caught on 30lbs mono.

Catfish = always catch and release FYI :)
