Gfish

Quote from: JasonGotaProblem on September 08, 2025, 01:59:16 PMIt's an anti-nausea med. And that makes more sense as I think about it. I was still a bit queasy if I let the horizon drop out of sight for too long, but I never felt like I was gonna lose it. I may have to add some bonide in there next time.

It's funny. On the way out I was too excited to feel anything negative. In fact I commented a few times that the rough ride made the usually very dull ride out way more interesting.

I don't know if I made it clear, but I had a ton of fun. Not sure the rest of the boat did, but I sure as heck had a blast.

Talking to Joe, he said it wasn't rough enough to qualify as what you west coasters call "sporty", and if so, holy crap. Y'all go out in worse than that?

Only if there's no choice. Multi-day, week & month Commercial stuff. In those situations you go through it and then recover. A very few do not and gotta get dropped off in port.
Yet another thing I love about a solo-trip; control.

Nice job Jason, catching a good variety of fish in not the best conditions. Did this trip have a pool for largest fish? If so, what won?

Two rules on the boat
1. Fish where the fish are
2. See rule #1

They clearly define the jackpot, probably because there were arguments in the past. It's "biggest keeper snapper by weight"

I thought I was looking pretty good in the running til someone else pulled a very big mango over the rail in the last half hour of fishing. He had also entered the jackpot, so I didn't bother to get mine weighed because there's no second place prize.

:)  Well that was a interesting night !!  Just as the boat was loading passenger ,it started raining pretty good .      Than under way came the thunder and lighting .    You can see the looks on people's faces change .    They ran to the cabin to duck the rain , that for some people is a no no , and fuels the nausea .  Night time ,rain , thunder and lighting sent most over the edge .

At the first stop , the guy to the right of me gave me a warn leg , looked like peaches to me .  The deck hand washed me down with the hose .  I caught a lot of small fish and threw back .

The one`s that just made keepers , I gave away .  I just wanted a good size grouper , That did not happen .

Character is doing the right thing when nobody is looking .   There are too many people who think that the only thing that!s right is to get by,and the only thing that's wrong is to get caught .

Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.   Alto Mare
