Hello everyone, im Bob Pham from san jose, ca.

i was lucky enough to be invited to a Morro bay rockfishing event a couple weeks ago by my Good friend Khanh Customs.  i got to meet Alan tani, and some of the guys on here.  had a great time and learned a lot!

Ive been fishing since i was little, self taught since no one in my family fishes.  i got into Kayak fishing in the ocean a few years ago and got addicted.  These days, thats how i fish 95% of the time.  i pedal a hobie outback in red, so if you see me on the water come say hi!  Im also part of www.ncka.org

On days i dont fish, im a Transporter (Uber Driver)  which funds my obsession, and allows me to fish as much as i do.  I came from a planning/purchasing background by trade, so that explains my curiosity.

Ive been checking this site at times and its world class!  when i look up reel info, oftentimes it brings me to alantani.com.  Ive been lurking for the last few weeks and it finally inspired me to ne brave enough to do some complete breakdowns and services on my reels.  after doing so it has taught me a lot!  it showed me why and how the do what they do. and why the cost what they cost.  i didn't think id be so addicted to doing that, but maybe that's just me.  i like to do everything on my own, home improvement, firearm takedown, clean, reloading, etc.  i just wished i had more time to do more of it!

at the moment im a Shimano fanboy, most of my fishing revolves around a calcutta that ive had for the last 3 years,  for salmon and halibut.  a few Triton Tr-g's.  Daiwa lexa 300wn.  ive had a jigmaster that i occasionally mess around with, that i opened up last night. ill post a picture below to see if anyone can find the factory error.

Tight lines!

The first rule of fishing is to fish where the fish are. The second rule of fishing is to never forget the first rule.

Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Great to have you on board.  Dominick, San Mateo, CA
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

There is nothing like lying flat on your back on the deck, alone except for the helmsman aft at the wheel, silence except for the lapping of the sea against the side of the ship. At that time you can be equal to Ulysses and brother to him.
