Hey all,,
Was wondering,, the overall opinions of the Pro gear 2500.. utility, functional, general quality, rebuilding,,,etc..

My usage would be fresh water,, targeting large Flathead catfish,,

Most of the fish targeted more than likely don't require any more than 8#'s of drag for a short spirited fight..

Reels with high line capacity are a bonus, as we set lines out quite a ways with a kayak.. several hundred yards..

Basically, Like to find out if these reels are consistent with the quality most other Pro Gear Reels receive praise for....
Thanks,
Greg

Pro Gear Pacifica 2500's major flaw was it's corrosion issues when used in salt water without proper initial pre-use service.  Other than that, they are awesome reels.  I believe that the 2500's have jigmaster compatable innerts.  So service is simple.

:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D
