Alutecnos, worth the hassle?

A friend is interested in purchasing a red Alutecnos Gorilla as a gift.

Requests to Alutecnos Italy for a dealers list in the USA have gone unanswered.

Requests to their US distributor, Bluefin, for a dealers list have gone unanswered.

I found a dealer that quoted a price and then raised it 33%.

I'm wondering, if it's this much of a hassle to buy one, what's their service like?

Are they that good or do they just look good?

If it's that much trouble to buy one can't imagine what getting parts is like.

Their web site says they are closed from August 1st to the 24th.  It's a European thing.

Actually it says they aren't shipping until the 24th, not that they are completely closed.
