Don't get the squeeze bottle.  It's impossible to squirt it all out and scraping the mayo out of a small neck bottle ain't easy.

16 ounces is the perfect size for a jar of mayonnaise.  If it's any larger it gets bits of sandwich stuff in it before the jar is used up.  Any smaller and it doesn't last any time at all.  The same goes for a tub of sour cream.

I've heard good things about the Japanese Kewpie mayo!

Kewpie is the best!  Made with egg yolks only, no whites.

Try to get the version that says made in Japan on the label.  It will have MSG as an ingredient.  The stuff made for Americans replaces the MSG with yeast extract and sugar.

kewpie is on the top shelf of Wayne's picture, in the middle with the red label. Me? I always use Best Foods 'cuz that's what my wife and mother used!

Ted!!!

yes, 10 oz jar @ $5.99 is MY price of admission!!!  Spent NO time looking for better deals!!!

And to the Great AND Powerful Thorhammer, my 1st taste of Duke's Mayo is TANGY!!!  FAR Tangier than Best Foods.

And Mark T, Best Foods is what my Mother used, and Jennifer, my wife of 45 years of blissful marriage, that's all she uses.

During my BSA camping times, someone slipped Miracle Whip into the Bologna sandwiches. I say NO BUENO for sure.

Mart T & Dave, YES, Kewpie is a far different flavor Mayo than I'ver ever had.  Enjoyed it on a Korean Egg Sandwich one day in San Francisco.  FOR SURE, I'd have it again.

Gents, we are FAR OFF TOPIC for a Turkey neck meat sandwich, but Alan gives all of us WIDE BIRTH to our posts.

All our thanks to Alan for a great forum for all topics expect TWO!!!!

And a wise strategy it is.  A narrow  birth sounds kinda painful.  Oh... berth.  Nevermind.

I don't think that Kewpie has too different a taste than standard mayo, so it can be used in a lot of the same situations.  It is on the richer side, so I would use a bit less.  Try it on your next turkey neck sandwich.

I think that one in the photo of the supermarket shelf is the Americanized version.
The one sold at Costco is also supposed to be a different Americanized blend.

This is what the packaging and ingredients looks like on a Japanese version. Note the MSG in the ingredients. The Asian supermarkets around here usually have the Japanese version.

Yep!  Still my favorite.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.
