My old tackle bag started to tear at the bottom seam after 15 years of use so I started looking free a replacement a few months ago. I wanted something that would hold 4-5 size 3700 boxes plus leave room for other tools and equipment. I wanted it to be a medium size bag so that I didn't take up too much space on the tackle tracks on the boats in San Diego. I looked at a couple roller bags but they were too big, too pricey and were prone to tipping over. About a month ago while pursuing Amazon for a few other items I came across the Plano Guide series of tackle bags and they looked to be exactly what I was looking for but a tad pricy. I moved one into my shopping cart to look at later and much to my surprise the bag went on sale and then was further discounted for Amazon Prime day! It ended up costing right around $60 and should last me a good long time...

I have the similar Shimano Baltica bag.  I have 2 double height 3700 boxes and a standard box in it.  They contain my wahoo trolling plugs, extra bombs and poppers/stick baits.
My main bag is the large Calcutta non-roller that holds 5 3700's in the main compartment, another one in the back pocket and another one in the front and 2 in the top.  I just carry the 5 in the main compartment!  I have a double height box in the top without a lid to hold the tools, fluoro, etc.  My large Avet reel bag holds a 3700 in the top compartment.  I think I have enough storage for my long range trips!

Sounds like a nice set-up Mark!

I only do up to 3 day trips so this bag will be plenty big enough plus I bring along a jig tote which I fill with my flat falls, snipers, surface irons and poppers for quick access!!!!

I have a Turners jig bag that holds a couple of dozen irons too.  Similar to the Daiwa and old Shimano ones.

I have the Daiwa version that is slightly bigger than the Turners one you have. Between the new Plano and the jig bag I'll have plenty of space for gear and not take up too much room on the sport boat.

I've looked at those often, hope to hear how it holds up!

That Plano looks super...and from one of the best known names in tackle storage.

Either the Plano or Mark's solution sounds like the hot ticket; my stuff is a little maxed out at this point.  I will have to check both of those out. - john
