Hello everyone!  I'm a big fan of Alan and his post on other forums.  Been reading and learning a lot, but the one that got me stumped is belleville washer.  I don't know what it is or what it looks like in a reel.  I've looked at reel schematics and also tried Google, but still don't have a clue.  Can one of you please post a picture of what a belleville washer is?  My imagination is not very good ;).

No photo but they are spring washers, flat cone shaped, you will also see wavy ones (Penn) but they are not belleville washers.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

Bent or cone shaped...
They act like a spring to slowly add tension/pressure...
---( )<--- (Shaft direction) ~   Best example on a key board....

Without them you would either have Max Drag, or No drag....
They add slow pressure as you tighten the star or Lever drag...

Thanks guys for all ther responses.  I think I forgot to add the word "washer" when I googled it which explained why I didn't find what I was looking for.

Do you live in Oregon and have we met?

Lee:  This is the wrong site for meeting guys ;D ;D.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

But the trolling is easy  ;D

If he is who I'm thinking he is a good guy.
