Spiral wrap rods are sorta controversial in some ways,  it's not always about catching fish,  obviously 🙄.
So another idea I noticed is the stripper guide needs not to have a ring larger than  needed to run the knots or plain line through as it really only holds the line up above the rod.  In general the taller guides have large rings.   This actually hurts in the spiral transition as the line will not be centered as it would be hoped to be once the tension is on the line.
In my pictures the reel shown was reeled in approximately 50 yards under some strain trying to hold the reel level.  This is a mock up of a spiral wrap rod with an offset inner smaller guide in the tall 16 stripper that I showed in the last part of the Zeus 4 findings recently posted here.
It's a possible solution to offsetting the second guide to keep the line centered.

I have been fishing spiral wraps for a few years now, any new rods I purchase are all Spiral wrapped. I am a believer.  :d
