Picked this up recently, looks new like it never had line on it. Fair chunk of change too judging from the price tag on it. What have I got here?  Thinking I should clean out the inside and bearings and add CF drags or do I leave it for the self?7B1AB74E-76A7-4094-B13A-1C6CA3E56705.jpegDDB4DE92-54F4-47EC-8621-D4D81522D935.jpeg85641C08-D9C5-4C66-B2F5-3B0601A35D85.jpegD8DB1112-986B-460B-9570-083F5A31462A.jpeg7B1AB74E-76A7-4094-B13A-1C6CA3E56705.jpeg

Nice reel, use it. Should already have CF drags. CT=no levelwind. Mag antireverse.

How much you want for it?
Any machine is a smoke machine if you use it wrong enough.

One of the finest long distance reels ever made. I might shelve that one (I received one in that condition and could'nt bring myself to put it in the sand, so I bought a fisher). I think they stopped production about 15 years ago, and they are difficult to come by in the States. I've maybe seen three or four in the used avenues, ever.

I don't like to fish a great reel THAT condition, especially with a box, etc., but that'n with no levelwinder is somethin I'd definitely fish. I have one 5000 form the early '60's——never fished, leather case, tool, spare parts and oil——that's my shelfie. A '73 5000 without all the extra goodies is the one I fish and it works much better/smoother than the shelfie...?...
Fishing tackle is an art form and all fish caught on the right tackle are"Gfish"!
