I just made a Gaff for a Friend from a broken rod around 3 weeks ago, I never though on show it here because its way too basic and simple, basically I just dremel out the hoods of the reelseat and build a grip there, the rod already had its name (I restored that rod for him, he runs a fishing charter) took out the guides, cut the blank and installed the gaff hook

well Kon-tiki Boat needed another Gaff but shorter just to lift the fish when is pretty close to the boat, so, I made one really similar but 3ft long

not gonna lie, but I already experienced something similar, few years ago I built a custom rod with Mexican flag colors and the owner liked the rod that much that he decided to not use the rod any longer and put it on a place on his living room along with his personal loved trophies
