Bearings versus bushing?

Appears the Great Lakes versions of 47LC's of the Diawa Line counter reels I have come with bushings for the spool and not bearings.

Just wondering if used for down riggers or planer boards if it would be worth seeing if bearings are available?

I'd say stick with bushings.  They will work just fine for your application.

Thanks, kinda figured/hoped they'd be ok, cleaned and lubed they run pretty well.
