Stella 20000FA a/r bearing install

I am servicing a Stella 20000FA reel. I am having difficulty getting the anti-reverse bearing to go in correctly.  This reel does not have a a/r switch so after they are installed, there is nothing to activate them. When installing them, if I configure them prior to putting in the reel, the a/r doesnt work. If I configure them while in the reel, the metal ring does not go back on. It looks like they have to set in the reel where the metal ring is already to set to have the a/r on, however that makes the slot for the rollers too small. Anyone have any tricks or advise to assist.

Never mind.. I figured it out
I had the plate that goes under the bearings on incorrectly.

It's a needed pain! Why they made them this way is beyond me!
