A new addition to the albeit small group of reels that have followed me home over the years.  I realize these are nothing special mechanically but I just like that deep metallic green color. Makes me think of a Pontiac Bonneville in that deep green that GM used in the 90s.

Yes, these are nice reels, and their pinion gear design is very durable & rather smooth (but not as smooth as the worm gear used on some vintage Penn & Shakespeare reels).  The sprung pivot of the anti-reverse pawl is superior to the vintage Shakespeare's compression washer design.  There is a way on this and many other reels with similar bail design to prevent a groove from forming on the line roller due to the monofilament continuously passing straight over it. 

Simply bend the bail bracket (part #19) where the bail & roller are attached onto so it has a 10-degree or so angle as related to the spool. Doing this causes the line to slightly "sweep" over the roller as it reels in and thus doesn't have a direct 90-degree angle which causes the groove to form.
