I just ordered a Fierce 3 1000,they have come down now that the 4s are out.I have a Battle 2-2500 & B3-2000 as well ,they are great. The 2000 stays on the dock out in the weather.I think the bearings are sealed on it.All I have done to it is replace the line.Any Fierce guys out there, chime in? BPS has the 4000 version for $60 now.

A lot of them pop up on CL supposedly almost new. That's a terrible sign. People must be buying them, not liking them, and trying to get rid of them. I've also heard quite independently that it's a race with those between whether the paint job or the bearings will corrode to crap first.

It looks cool though when its new. Thats for sure.
Any machine is a smoke machine if you use it wrong enough.

The Battles seem to be good, but I only use them in fresh water. This may be blasphemy on here, but I was looking hard at another Kast King... half the price, lighter, and more BB but who knows how long it would last.My money is on the PENN.

I think I have had 2 Penn spinners out of a dozen that have come in that haven't had internal corrosion issues. I write off more Penn reels than any other due severe internal damage.  They keep upping the IPX rating on them, but only time will tell....
It seems to me that their seals only serve to keep the water in; maybe they should label them IPX  minus xx to indicate their water retention rating?  :-\
