Yep! and "old fishing stuff".

And I haven't done much more than clean, replace drag washers, and lubricate my other reels. There is a 5+1 Ultimate kit on my bench intended for a stock 501 but I'm afraid to put it in until I get a SS sleeve. I picked up a matched pair of HS Jigmasters for the price of their Tiburon frames but they were so well maintained that I closed 'em up as they came to me. A part of me hopes a reel or two blows up on me during next weeks 1-Day so I can play hotrodder😀

Any update on how you did?  Bill
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

My apologies for not following up.
We spent the entire day looking for BFT. A few were hooked up and lost and two were caught of about 200lbs. Both fish by the same guy who was visiting from GA and using a rental rod! Nice guy who had one of them cut into steaks and we each got a bag :)

I haven't upgraded the 113H yet. I treated myself to a Baja Special for Christmas and put my 113H up for sale--then I read through the Tank thread and -- then I read the thread about the Tank's travels and -- then I decided to keep the 113H. One day...

Yep.  :D  Down the path!
Make sure to check out Cortez_Conversions, here on Alan's site, for the "fix" concerning the double dogs on the 113.   Well worth the upgrade!

Not sure if Mike is referring to the upgraded bridge for the Baja Special/US senator or r some of the upgrades for the  Special Senators (the ones with an H after the number l such as the 113H).

I would first consider getting the Cortez Conversions upgraded bridge for the Baja Special.  There is a limitation in the stock dog/ratchet design for the Baja Special/US Senator that makes it the point of failure at loads lower than what many expect.

While folk here like to put extra dogs in the Special Senators, the effect on load capacity  and durability is debatable. Alternating double dogs can cut handle backplay in half - which probably won't help you catch more fish, but some find to make the reel more enjoyable to fish.

This 👍. Tom did a great job!  I love my US113N and with the upgrade, no more worries!
