fritz keppner maker

I picked up this bamboo casting rod recently. the rod has a mark on it from a fritz keppner in yonkers NY. the rod has a unique winding that spirals around the entire rod. Has anyone heard of this maker. the rod has the charles terry reel seat with the 1906 patent stamp.
