Alan:I have a couple of these reels & was wondering if their is a way to "soup" them up for longer cast?
I use them to plunk from the bank using 4-8 oz. on 10-12' rod. my question! can the bushing's be replaced with bearing's & would it make much difference & be cost effective? I'm open for any other suggestion's you may in this regard. I find your site very informative & helpful.
                                                       Thank's in advance

welcome!  so, drags first.  upgrade them to greased carbon fiber.

for freespool, clean out the bushings and the pinion gear with a q-tip and solvent, then lube them all plus the spool shafts with a reel lube of your choice.  it's important to clean out the inside of the pinion gear!
send me an email at alantani@yahoo.com for questions!
