712/712z Drag Knobs

I recently acquired 2-712s and 1 712z.The 712 drag knobs seem to turn in 1/4 turn increments.The 712z just tightens down clockwise like most drags I am familiar with?

Early on Greenies had indents on the top of the spool and one on the drag knob, you can feel it in the drag knob as you tighten/loosen.  We switched to no indent by the time the Z's were launched.
