Hay Alan. Somewhere on this website I saw a cool little tool to remove and replace the small retaining pins that hold the bearings in place on the spool shaft of small bass baitcasting reels.

It's flat, made of anodized aluminum, and has a threaded shaft running through it to push the pins in and out.

What is it called, and do you know of anybody that mite be selling them at the coming Fred Hall show in Long Beach?

The tool in question is the Hedgehog pin removal tool.

That's it KillerBug! Checked the website and they had a picture of it but there was no way to "ad to cart" so I assume that it is not currently available.

So I'm still hoping that someone on this board will know of a vender who mite carry them and will be at the Fred Hall Show.

:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

Are you only looking for the specific tool you described? Otherwise, you can just drill a small hole in a pair of pliers and use those.

Just a note, the Hedgehoq tool is fine and very gentle to the spool shaft on expensive reels(thats why I use it).  BUT, it does not have the ruggedness of pin removal pliers.

May want to check these http://alantani.com/index.php?topic=2510.0.  Available through SmoothDrags.

You would need the patience of Job if you are waiting for these. :(
