Mitchell 300a bail installation

Newbie here...need 300a bail and spring installation help...my first servicing...have another 3 reels to go.

Plenty of videos on the 300 and I saw the 300 tutorial someone posted...all bails have a hole for the spring with various folks saying "insert bail into this hole".  My bail does not have any holes, rather, slots that the spring likely fits in...any guidance on how to install?
