Wow is right.  What a fish.  Justin, are you out there?  Get fishing, look at what you are missing.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

I need one of those for the first tuna of the season at Tsukiji and collect my $700K  ;D

That's one big plate of sashimi and poke...where's the party!!!
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

Yeah, saw that. It's a monster alright - fish of a lifetime.
S'pose that's why we call NZ 'Godzone'.  ;)
We've got a great bluefin fishery, particularly off South Westland.
Fortunately it's being well managed to date.
The La Nina weather cycle seems to produce some cracker fish.
I'm saving for a long-range trip in May/June, so hopefully it'll be me in the photo next time...  ;) ;D
Cheers, Justin

Awesome fish alright, you going to Greymouth? would love to fish out of there one day, I've never fished the West coast...Enchanter runs out of there in the season?

redsetta

G'day Clem, I'm planning to go on Enchanter, but out to the Three Kings.
Hoping to catch the end of the La Nina warm currents.
Greymouth would be awesome, but would add substantially to the cost.
One day...  ;)
By the way, they've been taking some cracker stripies and blues out wide from the Manukau Heads.
Had a surf at Piha the other day and saw big work-ups of bonito/skipjack about a mile out.
Cheers mate, Justin

Mate, I miss home for all those reasons..everything there on the doorstep, used to go to Little Huia as a youngster and walk a mile or 2 towards the heads and fish off the rocks..catch all sorts there..Mate the trip to 3 kings will be awesome..I've never been out there but hope to one day...I'll put these on my bucket list...3 Kings, Greymouth, White Island. Our trip to Musandam is next week 17/18 hopefully the winds will be ok and we can get on to some good fish..will post some pics either way..Just saw the comments from Wallace, the waters temps have changed no doubt, we never used to catch Blue Cod in Auckland..or Mahi Mahi, but we do now?

redsetta

Still have some saving to do, but hopefully it'll all come together...
Wallace, try searching 'Enchanter fishing NZ' - it should come up.
I'm away at a conference this week, so replying from my phone.
If you can't find it, I'll post a link when I get back on Friday.
Good luck for your trip Clem - hope it's epic.
All the best, Justin

Hi Wallace...I put together a simple website with fishing info for Dubai and the UAE but I have "Enchanter" linked on the "Fishing in New Zealand" Page .. www.focusedonfishing.com

redsetta

Great site Clem - well done.
Coincidentally, I'm booked with Paul Snr on Wavedancer in September.
Cheers for the link, Justin
