I know someone just came across a Thomas j Conway. New York bamboo flyrod, 2 peace Pat.  1884 excellent condition? Can anyone tell me anything About it

I can tell you the last name is Conroy not Conway. Other than that I know very little.

That's a Gilbert Bailey reel seat.
I think Thomas was the son of John, and the Conroy family were innovators in the fly fishing world.
Might be worth asking the question on classicflyrodforum.com.
