I have found a fantastic product for removing salt deposits from reels.
It is called HG limescale remover foam for bathrooms
It is well priced and works very quickly.
i had a mitchell 600 that was caked in really heavy crusty salt deposits
and the HG removed it in 5 minutes which is unbelievable.
You can buy it on amazon and ebay for £7 for 2# 500ml bottles
If it is available round the world, i dont know.
i just put the parts to be treated in a small tray and spray them
