thanks - I have two South Bend cane fly rods with those Comficient grips, they still work well..

Wonder how many of the SB reels are still around. They are tough to cast with no free-spool.
SB also made a tournament casting reel which does have a free-spool, no drag though, plain old direct-drive.
It will cast 1/8oz easily. I haven't had the courage to fish it yet ;-)
