I've found tutorials for similar reels but not this exact model.  Have this issue on 3 reels so I fell like I'm missing a clip or something.  The rotor cup is attached solid!

Schematic -> https://www.mysticparts.com/Assets/images/pennparts/schematics/btlii5000.pdf

Tutorials show removing 38a, 95b and 38 and the cup should pull right off - mine are unmovable, even with a little tap or strong pull.

Any suggestions???

Did you have any success ?

I usually rock it back and forth a little and it comes right off.

A fresh water rinse after using, HA! But really, could there be corrosion down there?
Noticed on the schematic 19A is a pinion bushing, could that be the sticking point?

My go to is <Kroil> to loosen things up, but I just used Lucas reel oil on a Mitchell 304 stuck AR lever. I just slathered it on and within minutes it broke loose.I have a battle 2-2500 only used in freshwater that I have never had to service.

I worked on one of these recently. The rotor was a bit stuck, even though the rotor nut was barely finger tight. Just took a bit of wiggle. Also the spool shaft doesn't disassemble. So you have to remove the spool shaft from below in order the remove the rotor.

Thanks all for the suggestions, was off-line for a week and now back at it.

Alan, not 19a, that's a small plastic cap that came out (in pieces of course) and has been replaced.

I thought it might be 11/12 (bushing / spring) but there's no way to access those parts.  The bearings in 20 are more likely the issue.  This reel has a whine at higher speeds and I suspect those bearings are to blame.

Will try some Kroil along with rocking 'encouragement' ::)  to see if I can get it loose.

Gotcha. That 19A part is a good thing to have, it reduces spool shaft friction, wobble and maybe keeps water out of the bearing area.
