New Rod Clamp

I have a new style rod clamp I was going to mount my Jiggy
On my Squadron 3 rod.1st thought was ring upward easier to hook on the handle side or ring downward tail plate side or does it matter either way?

Depends if you want to use it for hook keeper or attach rod leash.

Hook,I assume with a rod leash you would want it on the tail plate side clear of handle?
