I rode a huffy Cranbrook (the cheapest bike I could get my hands on) one speed cruiser bike to and from USF twice a day. I didn't add it up til after that it was 2.5mi each way so I was biking 10mi per day. But if I was really hauling I could get from my back door to classroom door in 11 minutes. Try to park in under 15. Forget the traffic to get there.

Now I just got a magna cruiser bike. One speed pedal brake like I'm used to. I'm gonna try to get my cardio back.
Any machine is a smoke machine if you use it wrong enough.

I got an electric bike Mountian bike thinking I could use it to haul my pier fishing gear but it's impractical. I bought a electric cargo bike a couple weeks ago that should work good once it's set up. Kind of cheating but I live up some steep hills   Pretty fun riding those things
Do what you can with that you have where you are

I only ride 5 miles a day and ride slow less than 10 mph as I have pacemaker implant 13 years ago .Once in a while I took fishing rod with me so I go may be 10 miles .Exercise and Keto diet help me to control my blood sugar for last 6 month

My son gave me an electric bike that he got it free when he were taking pics and video for them at the show in NY ,I never use it and still in my garage . I told him that he is so wrong about me ,if it have an engine it have to be gas engine because I love that noise .He tight up that electric bike to my wagon and pulling my grandkids in bike trail .That time only 3 grandkids I have 2 more when my daughter got a twin

My bike for Pleasant Valley reservoir.  A $15  garage sale Huffy.
Stay Classy!

Wow ,that's a serious set up . I'm surprise many have same idea for fishing

CI_Seawolf

My set up wasn't that expensive,  the basket was found at a garage sale for $.25, cheap plastic rod holders off Amazon (you could use 1 1/2" pvc instead). Zip ties, and a cheap bike package rack from Wal Mart.  Working on my other bike, a Raleigh Techmium from 1989 that I have had since new.  Replacing rotten tires and tubes, will make a removable fishing basket set up.
Stay Classy!

Frank ,you have quite a few bikes too .You must be 6'8 tall

happyhooker

Taller than some, but not basketball tall.  I look for bikes that have bigger frames, but sometimes you have to take what comes & improvise.  Another way old bikes are like old reels.

I'm standard Asian size so find the bike that fit wasn't bad ,my lady is short so find a bike for her very hard .End up have to get a kid bike for her . In the last 40 years bike industrial changing too much ,From crank ,bottom bracket ,head set ,rim ,hub ,brake now even have dish brake .Every time I have newer bike I have to find lot of information to know how to fix it .Fishing reel didn't change too much
Another problem is tire size ,so many different size and Europe ,England and America all have different standard

There's a lot more bike fanatics in this world than reel fanatics.
