Got a couple Jigmaster 500's from a friend to service.  Need to replace the drag washers and the gears, also the gear that is attached on the end of the spool (aluminum) is moving back and forth, is it supposed to do that?  The other one is a black plastic spool and the gear on that one does not move at all.

As far as a HT-100 replacement drag set and new gears, about how much is that.  And where is the best place to get parts from?  thanks for any advice.

G'day Coastie,
Try Scott's - they're great to deal with: https://www.mysticparts.com/PennParts/Penn500.aspx
Re: the gear, do you mean the click gear on the left side of the spool, ie as per the below pic?
If so, it should be firmly fixed...
The HT-100 set is about $6, complete with metal drag washers, here: https://www.mysticparts.com/PennParts/Parts/6-309SP.aspx
Hope that helps.
Good luck, Justin
PS The new gear set will be about $20.

yes thats the part exactly, on the bright alum. spool for one of the 500's it moves about 1/4" back and forth and I cant tell where (if I can that is) adjust it on the spool shaft.  The other 500 I have uses a dull black alum. spool and is solid.
