I didn't figure I'd get too much, if any, hazing on this Staro. Awesome reel, that I even overlooked.
 It's not like a Hardy Altex. Lol
That got me some dirty looks. Ha!

  I like that feeling of catching fish on a new rebuild and it works flawlessly .. :d  Good job .

Agree! Really liking this reel. Wasn't sure about the Bakelite ring gear, but this is a very nice reel and the swap out flier and spools is such a unique feature.
 So smooth and quiet. The silent a/r works great and the flier drag is a really cool feature.
 I've overlooked these reels in the past, at my own loss. Very interesting old reel.
