New Wonder Lube

I also discovered water works as a lube for a short 5 minutes. Dip reel in river, shake it off some, then cast further for maybe 10 cast! Not smart, but it did what I wanted.... until the reel became locked up from rust.

I did that once, but it was in salt water.  That is, I did it once intentionally 'cause sometimes stuff happens.  After paddling 45 minutes to get out there I wasn't going to go home just because the reel was grinding a bit and all the oil had leaked out of the little bottle.

 Elmer's is a really good lubricant, for a short time.
