I like to travel with a four piece spinning rod most of the time to fish with.  My fly rod came with alignment dots on it.  I'd like to replicate something like this on my already finished spinning rods and would appreciate any ideas you all might have on how I could do this.

For you guys who build your own rods, how would you do this on a store bought, finished rod?  The closest I could come up with at home, has been two opposing arrows on a clear label using my old label maker since I cannot print a solid line, which would span between the ferrules.  One arrow on each side.

Mudhole has some decals that I could use, but that could get pricy at the numbers I am looking for.  They also mentioned coating the decal or my label with some 50/50 epoxy.

Thanks for your thoughts,

Matt

A well placed dot with a paint pen?

Yes, thank you Jason,

Sometimes the OCD gets in the way.  My original thought was to use a Testor's paint pen.
